Moose

Sponsor: Mr. & Mrs. Nicholas Adams

Carver: Carl Dion is the carver of the Adirondack Carousel’s Moose. He has been carving since the seventh grade and has completed 55 carvings to date. With his aunt, Anne Hinds, and his father, Carl traveled the country photographing various carousels for Grab the Brass Ring, the resulting book published by Anne.

Carl and his father carved a four-foot diameter replica of a 36-animal carousel. His favorite carvings are wedding mice and a three-foot-tall bear that now lives in his backyard.

There are many ways to give…

To make the Adirondack Carousel a reality, we have undertaken a $1.2 million fundraising campaign to build a year-round 3,500 sq. ft. pavilion that will house a full size-carousel, art gallery and workshop/classroom space, and include the construction of an adjacent playground.

There are still limited quantities of permanently engraved pavers available
to help build the path to the Adirondack Carousel pavilion.
