Otter

Official Name: Oliver

Sponsor: Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks

Painter: Sandra Hildreth, local artist and member of Adirondack Artists Guild

Carver: Karen Loffler, former Executive Director of the Adirondack Carousel project, is carving the Carousel otter. With initial assistance from master carver, Carl Borst (see Racoon), Karen has taken on the logo mascot as another of her contributions to making her dream come alive. She has been carving for 10 years, and enjoys working in clay, walking in the woods, canoeing, and biking. Karen is also a level one Reiki apprentice, working under a local practitioner.

There are many ways to give…

To make the Adirondack Carousel a reality, we have undertaken a $1.3 million fundraising campaign to build a year-round 3,600 sq. ft. pavilion that will house a full size-carousel, art gallery and workshop/classroom space, and include the construction of an adjacent playground.

There are still limited quantities of permanently engraved pavers available
to help build the path to the Adirondack Carousel pavilion.
