SUMMARY:Peek at the Pavilion
DESCRIPTION:The Adirondack Carousel will open its doors for a "Peek at the Pavilion" on Saturday\, March 10. At 2pm\, the public will be welcomed and given a glimpse of what’s been accomplished so far\, what’s left to do\, and where donations are still being accepted to make the early summer grand opening a reality.    In addition to viewing some of the hand-carved animals and hand-painted rounding boards and medallions that will grace the Carousel\, guests will be invited to witness the unveiling of the beautiful handicap-accessible Chariot. Anonymously sponsored\, and carved by Spencer Boatworks\, this is of particular interest as the Chariot is the second one carved. The first finished piece was sadly lost in a fire at Spencer Boatworks last summer.    Anyone wanting to volunteer to help on the home stretch will be able to sign up at the site\, and personalized pavers that will form the walkways to and around the Carousel are still available for purchase. The first installation of the main walkway will begin in April.    The Adirondack Carousel\, a unique project built with community hands\, is located at the corner of Bloomingdale and Church Streets in Saranac Lake. A volunteer-run\, nonprofit organization\, the Carousel will fuse art\, education and entertainment\, and involve\, encourage and inspire all youth to appreciate where we live\, to be environmentally responsible\, to enjoy the great outdoors\, and to have fun while doing it.

SUMMARY:Porcupine to Be Unveiled at Will Rogers
DESCRIPTION:The Adirondack Carousel will unveil the newest Carousel animal\, the Porcupine\, on Sunday\, Oct. 30 at 1:30 pm at Saranac Village at Will Rogers.    The Porcupine is the 19th animal to arrive; five more are expected within the next few months. The Porcupine\, sponsored by the Maggs\, Schoff and Welch families\, was carved by the Fanning Garage Grinders\, a group of carvers including Eileen Fanning\, a master carver residing in Lake Pleasant\, and her two daughters\, Pamels Chappel of Schenectady and Patricia Livingston of Newport Beach\, California.

DESCRIPTION:Ruthie’s Run  - The Adirondack Carousel will be the featured community organization on Thursday\, August 4 at Ruthie’s Run\, 2415 Main Street in Lake Placid.    10% of all purchases made that day between 10 and 2 will support the carousel\, the Adirondack ’s newest attraction fusing art\, education and entertainment. Construction of the long awaited Adirondack themed carousel is underway in the William Morris Park in Saranac Lake .    Shoppers at the special August 4th event at Ruthie’s Run will be able to select from this year’s newest fall fashions and enjoy door prizes\, special jewelry showings\, raffle gifts\, refreshments and the beautifully carved Carousel wildlife figures in the window.
