Carver: Clifton “Jack” Barrette
Clifton “Jack” Barrette has been carving for 15 years and has spent many summers observing loons and their chicks. In addition to the Adirondack Carousel loon, he also carved a loon for the Empire State Carousel in Long Island, NY and restored two pairs of horses for the Redford, NY Carousel. Jack donates carvings every year to Mountain Lake PBS for their fundraiser. He was an elementary and high school art teacher for 30 years, carves life-size wildfowl, ducks and other birds, and enjoys cycling, stamp collecting, reading and 1812 reenactments.
