A Celebration of Adirondack
Wildlife and Craftsmanship
Beyond the ride itself, the Adirondack Carousel stands as a testament to community collaboration. Conceived in 1999 by local woodcarver Karen Loeffler and brought to life over more than a decade of volunteer effort, the project united artisans, sponsors, and residents in a shared vision of artistic expression and family fun. Housed in a custom pavilion in William Morris Park, the carousel also features beautifully hand-painted panels depicting Adirondack scenes, a wheelchair-accessible Chris Craft boat chariot, and spaces that support art, education, and connection for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re seeking a nostalgic spin on a handcrafted animal or exploring the stories behind each carving, the Adirondack Carousel offers a unique, immersive experience rooted deeply in the heart of the Adirondacks.
