Volunteers help in many different ways throughout the year, and no prior experience is required. Opportunities range from assisting during open hours and special events to supporting educational programs, fundraising efforts, and seasonal projects. Training is provided, schedules are flexible, and teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. Volunteering is also a wonderful way to meet new people, connect with the community, and support local arts and culture.
What does a Carousel Volunteer do?
- Greet our guests and make sure everyone feels welcome.
- Ring up gift shop sales, ticket sales on the cash register, or run the Carousel.
- Answer questions about the Carousel’s history, and about Saranac Lake.
- Enjoy yourself! Being a Carousel volunteer is its own reward, seeing the surprise on the faces of little children as they see the Carousel for the first time, hearing the laughter and meeting people who have traveled here from near and far.
